Our Mission

When we look at the mission of this local church, our mission is given to us by God. God has a mission and purpose for each local congregation and it can be summed up in these four aspects.

The reason that God made the local church is for his glory (Ephesians 3:20-21). As such we seek to glorify God by submitting to his authority, and accomplishing the mission and work that he has given us to do.

God’s mission also includes the salvation of man. God desires that all men be saved (1 Timothy 2:4) and that is through the preaching of the gospel and man responding in faithful obedience (Romans 1:16-17).

Then God wants those newborn christians to grow up in every way and to full maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:15). This process is called edification and it is a critical part of what we do as a local church.

The purpose of bringing glory to God, reaching the lost, edifying the saved, is to receive the blessing of Heaven. So we stress the eternal ramifications and ultimate end of all that we do for the Lord.

How can accomplish this goal and achieve our mission? Paul tells us in Colossians 1:10 to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” The Lord expects us to increase our knowledge. As we do, we live a changed life, please him in every way, bear fruit, and continue to increase our knowledge. We take this seriously and encourage each member to work in these ways so that they will reach their goal of heaven.
